Sitting in my living room, I’ve realized I don’t get prints of photos I take or have any in books on a table or hanging in frames on the wall.
Wandering through a museum, I fall in love with the concept of a well-edited selection of work, notable for a theme, a story, or just sheer technical implementation.
Perusing a library, I come across thoughtful short stories, fictional and non, and wish I could make more time to write and read these.
Browsing the web, I’m generally underwhelmed by a parallel experience to any of the aforementioned. There are exceptions, like the marvelous Pictory Magazine and Boston’s Big Picture. But I want more. And I want them to look beautiful on a desktop, phone, or tablet which may very well be sitting on a coffee table in the living room. I want places on the web that feel silent and thoughtful, that can put your mind at ease. And I want to share those with you.
So I welcome you into The Living Room. A space for large photos, high-definition video, and thoughtful stories in a format that gives content the presence it deserves and the quietness it requires.
And if it’s at all too bright, flip the light switch in the top right corner to bring it down. The room’s light will remain as you last left it, should you return.
